The international Academy of New Zealand (IANZ) was established in 2002 and registered as a Private Training Establishment in 2008. All courses in IANZ are approved by the NZQA under section 258 of the Education Act 1989 and they are accredited to provide these under section 259 of the Act. All courses respond to the needs of students and industry. 

The programmes in IANZ been driven by their commitment to support the New Zealand Tertiary Education Strategy 2010‐2015 national goals and priories and that of the global industry. They offer flexible and responsive education programmes which is of particular interest to the market of which the Ministry of Education has identified an increased number of enrolments in level 4 to 7 provider-based non-degree programmes. Furthermore, the programmes also allow meeting the government expectations to enable students to complete high-quality qualifications that lead to employment or higher-level education.
