A Testament to the 'Little Kitchen Big Taste'

“There is no such thing as free lunch.” Only free sumptuous dinner for four won by my brother at WoodStone Kitchen.

And how was it possible??? Kindly ask Naga City Deck (NCD).

After the Traslacion Procession mass, my siblings, my former professor and her daughter was accompanied by Naga City Deck to WoodStone Kitchen located at Bora Hut Food Temple, Peñafrancia Avenue Basilica Road (CLICK HERE for the latest review last March 2015), Magsaysay Avenue, Naga City. The place was cozy and a little bit rustic, a right place for relaxation and dining, to chat and jam with friends, family and colleagues. Preparing good food really takes a little bit of time and after patiently waiting, foods were served.

Sinigang na Ulo ng Tuna, Buttered Chicken, Pork and Vegetable Medley, Iced Tea and of course hot steamy rice while NCD ordered Sisig and Nachos. …………… What? Waiting for something????

Both my parents cook superb meals and that affected our tastebuds and standards in eating. Well, Chef Ton you made it very clear that WoodStone Kitchen serves one of the best home cooked meals in Naga City I’ve ever tasted.

Sinigang na Ulo ng Tuna makes me giggle with that tangy sour soup, the buttered chicken has that “melts in your mouth” feeling bursting with buttery garlic flavor, you gave justice to the Pork meddling in fresh and crisp vegetables making it a healthy menu and that home brewed Iced Tea was superb that I winked after my lips touched the glass. Pork Sisig was not that oily compared to others, the kick of hot pepper was just right not to make me choke and ask water to drown the spicy taste and the Nachos omgee reminds me of Mexico. That was a night to remember.

Think I’m just bluffing this all? Well why you don’t lead your feet and your stomach to WoodStone Kitchen after you have read this to experience what I have been narrating. Again from my brother, sister and me, a big thanks to Naga City Deck for introducing WoodStone Kitchen and to Chef Ton for preparing that wonderful meal. Next time I’ll try that Seafood Paella. -- by Kookai Sabareza
