Daet: Kundalini Healthy Cuisine

When people are usually offered a healthy dish, the first question would often be, "Does it taste good?". It's as if there's always a doubt as to how tasty and delicious the food can be if it's a healthy dish. Well, Kundalini Healthy Cuisine has proven me wrong, healthy dishes can be as delicious and fun like any average dish.

What is Kundalini? "It is the natural energy of the self, that nourishes and awakens it. For those seeking a healthy but tasty alternative, check out the fresh fruit smoothies at Kundalini Healthy Cuisine. Using fresh fruits and vegetables, these refreshing drinks will complement your choice of Vietnamese spring rolls, and a selection of authentic noodle entrees, including pad thai, japchae, or Singaporean. A perfect combination to beat the heat and stay energized. Also available are milk teas and fruit teas, hot and iced coffee, hot herbal teas and panini sandwiches. Kundalini also serves detox juices and vegetable salads."

Kundalini is located along Daet-Mercedes Road, just a few meters away from the corner of F. Pimentel Avenue.

The crew preparing the Super Fiber.

The Super Fiber is healthy smoothie with malunggay, alugbati, kamote tops, papaya, pineapple, and babana. The moment I had a sip, I think I had the best shake/smoothie to date. I'm not exaggerating, really, but that was the first time I had a drink with all those fruits and leaves combined but damn it really tasted good. Having said that, I'm willing to give up my coffee cravings for the Super Fiber! I wish Kundalini invests here in Naga City!
A sample of the Mango to the next level with mango and cheese as the main ingtedient. It really is to the next level kind of smoothie, truly UNIQUE than any other mango smoothie that I have tasted.

The Vietnamese Spring Roll (VSR) is also a very interesting version of our usual "lumpia". The peanut sauce really matches the vsr.

I loved the Jap Chae!!! Everything ingredient just blended well plus the spicy paste was really a hot stuff.

Oh I like this chili paste!  Perfect for the Jap Chae

The drinks served to us were refreshing. It's not the like the usual tea drinks that gives you a rough after taste but rather it leaves your throat fresh and gives you a soothing feeling.
Ms. Apple with the owner of Kundalini. The owner came up with the business because they wanted to share their way of living specifically their eating habits. For that, I salute you for introducing this one of a kind restaurant.

Kundalini also delivers their specialties. I hope one day they find a better place or do a little renovation so that people can have a cozier stay stay at the shop.

Bagasbas Beach, Daet's Charm

Every town or city has a charmer. For me, Bagasbas Beach is Daet's charm. The beach is just a few minutes away from downtown Daet and is readily available for both adrenaline junkies and those who just want to basically relax and unwind. Why is Bagasbas Beach charming?

Surfing. Daet is known as the Surfing Capital of Bicol. While Catanduanes also offers surfing to tourists, Daet is readily accessible by land. The waves of Bagasbas has charmed both local and foreign tourists.

A one hour lesson of surfing is only Php 400.00 inclusive of board rental. What's nice about this activity is that the instructor will never leave you as you do the actual surfing. It is a one on one activity with the first time surfer and the instructor. The waves are good for beginners, it still looks gentle from afar.

Since Bagasbas beach faces the Pacific ocean, the wind is just great for aeorosports. During the last weekend of March 2014, Daet hosted the 2nd International Aerosports Show. Paragliding and hanggliding towing will be yet another activity to be added on my bucket list.

Contact Number 0999-877-0114
Rates: Surfing Lesson at Php 200.00 / hr and Surfboard Rental at Php 200.00 / hr

I still have to earn some more confidence before I try this water sport.

Therapeutic. It is not only the surfers who gets to enjoy Bagasbas but also anyone who wants a natural foot massage at no expense. I for one who lives in an inland city crave for sand on my feet. The sound of the rushing waves and the opportunity to watch the sun rise is really a charming way to welcome your day.

Run, Bike, Exercise. The boulevard and the shoreline is full of runners, aerobics enthusiasts and cyclists especially during weekends. There's nothing more rewarding than an exercise the seaside way. Play beach volley with your friends and enjoy the sand.

Also along this boulevard are carinderias, restaurants and resorts like Bagasbas Lighthouse and Catherine's to name a few. Explore the night life along this boulevard with ktv bars and live bands or just a hearty dinner with your friends or family.

View from the watcher's tower which is located along the midway of the shoreline of Bagasbas Beach. Watch out for the signs, there are areas along the beach where you are not allowed to swim.

The sand is from grayish to brown but still feels fine on your feet.

Keep it clean. Volunteers and locals help clean the shoreline and they come in flocks just to brush the beach away from plastics or any litters. Tourists like us should help in maintaining the cleanliness of the beach. Remember, what we negatively do today to nature can be a thousand fold of disaster in the future.

Wander and be wondered. Look around you, free your mind and relax. This wandering talangka (photo below) is actually good in camouflaging itself on the sands of Bagasbas. The photo looks like a splash of sun rays from afar. But if you look at it closer the tiny balls of sand were made by tiny Mr. Crab. Exploring and wandering like a kid is already therapeutic. The charm of beaches will never fail anyone who wants to reconnect with nature.

Daet: Kick Milk Tea

It was a hot and humid morning during the first day of our #DateinDaet2014. We checked in at Pineapple Island Resort, our home for the weekend and headed to the Provincial Capitol of Camarines Norte to visit Museo Bulawan. To hydrate ourselves during the hot Saturday, the first refresher came from Kick Milk Tea.

WHERE TO EAT IN DAET? Click here.

Background: Why Kick? Why Kick Milk Tea? The owners did not find it hard to look for a name for their homegrown business. Like what I always say to my examinees taking a personality test, "the first natural answer that comes to you is the best answer". Taking it into the business perspective, naming a business "Kick" is easy to recall and gives you an impression of giving a good head start to whatever you are doing. Pretty much applicable that Kick Milk Tea is also the first tea shop in town.

I always admire people who is from his/her own town who knows how to give back to the local economy in any way possible. Thank you to the owners of Kick for establishing the first tea shop in Daet. You gave the people of Daet a chance to experience different blends of tea and not left out in the latest trends.

Location: Vicente Basit Road, Daet, Camarines Norte
Store Hours: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm

Don't forget to Check-in via Foursquare and share your tips about Kick Milk Tea!

Specialties: The fact that Kick Milk Tea is the first tea shop in Daet and in the province of Camarines Norte is already a "special" feature of the place. They do not only serve healthy tea tea drinks but also sandwiches, waffles, pancakes and pastries.

The Place: The place is very cozy for you, your friends and your family.

Kickin' Tea. The owners have a personal touch to the unique flavors, this is what makes every cup unique. You won't find some of the flavors in any other tea shops that Kick Milk Tea only offers. Every tea is freshly prepared when you order and is not made with premixed ingredients.

If I will be comparing Kick Milk Tea to any other tea shops with a dine-in area, then the pricing is VERY affordable. The place is just an extra, giving you comfort and relaxation which is also one of the main reasons as to why tea drinking is very beneficial.

Don't forget to like and follow Kick Milk Tea:

Leave a message and express yourself! This message board is really fun to read and will keep you coming back. Who knows, someone you know has a crush on you.

Yummy pastries

As to how I described Daet in my first Date in Daet post (CLICK HERE), the owners too are grounded, friendly and hands on in their business. Congrats and more power to Kick Milk Tea! I will surely have another Kick when I visit Daet.

Loved the Choco Hazelnut Tea!
