The Healing Bread in Naga City

Naga City - It's almost one year since The Healing Bread (THB) opened here in our city. Offering healthy bread, buns, wine, cakes, burgers, pasta, pizza but with all organic ingredients. It's only yesterday that I had the chance to stop by THB. Even though Panganiban Drive is a daily route where THB is located, the idea that it's just there made me delay my visit, which I now regret haha.

Probably the only organic garden bakery in Bicol Region to date and Naga City is indeed blessed and lucky to have this kind of place. THB offers artisan breads meaning, distinctively made in small quantities traditionally by hand, making sure that the bread is of high quality and guaranteed fresh.

This is one place that is totally guilt-free but not sacrificing good taste and flavor.

They have this Blue Ternate Veggie Pizza which I want to try the next time I visit. The crust is made from the goodness of moringa, oat whole wheat course and watered with guyabano tea. Sounds really really healthy. They have lots of cake too.

Since it was early in the morning, I ordered for take out, Pandesal (3 pcs for P10) and currently my favorite the Moringa Basil Wheat Bread which is perfect for sharing for only P50.

Hoping to come back sooner next time. The mushroom burger, veggie pizza and cakes are on my list!
Let's live healthier, patronize local bakeshops like The Healing Bread.

Naga City: Lenten Special Menu

It's the Season of Lent and some of you (Catholics) are observing fasting and abstinence. Although it's only observed during Ash Wednesdays and Good Fridays there are some people who go beyond this observance and do extra sacrifices than the usual. I'm not indulging you to be gluttonous this time of the year but here are options here Naga if you will abstain from meat. Bookmark this page as we add more to this list!

Bigg's Diner Seafood Specials
(Please do take note that these are regular on the menu of Bigg's and you can enjoy them anytime of the year)

The good ol'  California Tuna Sandwich of Bigg's Diner
is perhaps one of the ld time favorites of every local here in Naga.

Spicy Gamberetto
I have personally tried this and it's spicily yummy! Enjoy it solo or for sharing.

White Bean

Looking for a BRIGHT new place? Here's something new for coffeeholics. Bean there, done that!

White Bean is the renamed, renewed, and revitalized concept of Trevi Cafe. It's like a person who had a grandiose make over. LOL

coffee, cakes + love
this is so me hahaha

LOCATION: Ground Floor of Nagaland Emall.

THE PLACE: The former Trevi Cafe which was quite dim is now a very vibrant and dainty white-painted coffee shop. Contrary to the color of a coffee bean which is dark brown, this coffee shop made use of the color "white" with accents of blue and pink. Baby colors right? Since the place is white, pink and blue, this is no place named after Rowan Atkinson's character Mr. Bean. Definitely not.

Honestly, I have never visited the coffee shop when it was still Trevi Cafe. I don't know, I just didn't feel like going there. But now?? When I saw some photos of the place posted on skyscrapercity thread, my senses were awakened calling me to visit the place. The whole coffee shop is not yet complete. Photos shown below is just half of the whole place. Nagaland Hotel's lobby is in between the dining area, quite unique right?

View outside, opposite the road is Nagaland E-Mall
See the hotel entrance on the right? The white doors on the right most part is the access to the other half of White Bean (still under renovation)

You can sit here if your alone.

Interesting displays

A miniature couch

THE FOOD: The taste is very competitive enough since the cost it not that pricey (See price list below). Plating is also good and preparation does not take too much time to fill in your stomach. Drinks come in one size only. No short, tall, grande, or venti.

Italian Soda: Green Apple & Cucumber Flavor

Iced White Mocha

Ceasar Salad

Chef's Choice Salad
with mango, grapes and pili nut slices

See the pili nut?

Creamy Pesto Pasta
yummyness and creamyness pasta! ftw!

plus a complementary cupcake

BUDGET: Php 120 - 200 per person. The coffee is so!!! affordable. The pasta has a huge serving. And I'm excited to try their cakes which will be available soon (according to the staff).

SOMETHING UNIQUE: The ambiance of the place is very different from the usual coffee shops with warm colors. The couches are very comfortable, they make you feel like a prince and princess.

I will definitely go back to White Bean, there's a long queue on the menu to try! So hurry guys, it's not that pricey, very affordable and yet with a very competitive taste. But for the meantime, Bean there done that.

Lucky with Yellow Cab

Our city is indeed lucky to have Yellow Cab around. Aside from the finest pizza's of Grissini Ristorante,  Biggs' oven baked pizza and Mexita Pizza from Legazpi, we still have the national players when it comes to pasta and pizza like Yellow Cab, Shakey's and Greenwich.

June 2, 2012, we had our dinner at Yellow Cab after having a dip at the infinity pool of Avenue Plaza Hotel. We ended the night eating with our all time favorite pizza and pasta.

Sharing you my favorites at Yellow Cab.

Pizza? Call a cab. For deliveries call 472-22-22

New York's Finest
I really wanted to eat the folded pizza, but there's no arugula available. Too bad.

Charlie Chan Pasta
It's been a while Charlie my dear

and ice cream.
I was actually craving for the Pistachio flavor, but it was out of stock that's why  I settled with strawberry.

Isn't it wonderful that we have everything that we need or perhaps want in Naga City?! Cheers!

Little Patio

JP Little Patio is located at 91 Dayangdang St. at back of Jumong carwash. Dayangdang is known as an extension to Magsaysay Avenue's night life. I have long been passing by the entrance of Little Patio but unable to drop by and dine.  Luckily I was able to squeeze in my schedule a visit to the Little Patio last week after I was invited by Ms. Trish. From the logo of Little Patio, I had an impression that it's themed as Japanese, but then I found out that it's not. Now, that's uniqueness number 1.

THE PLACE. If you happen to know where Libod Resto Bar is, then you'll be able to find where Little Patio is located. It's at the back of a carwash with a huge compound and an ample parking space. From the main road of Dayangdang, you'll see the signage of Little Patio and an arrow for the parking space. So, no worries for your cars and there's a nice security personnel to guide you upon going in and out of the compound. The place itself justifies the name as a patio. It's clean and a garden-feel like atmosphere where you can enjoy good music and most importantly their food.

Live acoustic performances are scheduled every Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 8:00 pm.

THE FOOD. Little Patio has recently launched their month of May dish delights. Be amazed with their newest food concept and definitely another first in the city that is soooo unique and creative and not to mention.. HEALTHY. Why? There is no match for food prepared by spices and the touch of culinary passion with no use of Magic Sarap or artificial flavorings. When Ms. Trish (one of the sisters of Little Patio) told me about this, it was a hands down and 2 thumbs up praise for them. I admire people who do not use artificial flavorings when cooking, because I was also raised like one by my parents. Now that's uniqueness number 2!

We ordered Adobo Pasta, Beer and Beef Stew and one of my favorites now the "Sisig Wonton"

Adobo Pasta

Sisig Wonton
Sisig wrapped in wonton wrapper na may "ambura" (chopped onion, tomato, etc) on the side.
It's one sisig you'll never see in other restaurants, uniquely Little Patio, uniquely Naga!

Beer and Beef Stew
with potato and shitake mushrooms for the win!!
(pardon the low light)

Here are some photos from their Facebook Page
Don't forget to like Little Patio on Facebook for updates CLICK HERE

Watch out for their new dishes! Stay tuned!
Thank you Little Patio for the invitation! More power!
Looking forward to another culinary adventures with Little Patio!
Great food and taste only in Naga City!
