Paolo Santos Live in Naga City!

Naga City - Singer-songwriter and known as Mr. Acoustic of the Philippines, Paolo Santos will be here in our city LIVE on December 12, 2015 at WOODSTONE KITCHEN to serenade us with his classic acoustic hits. Known to have lead the acoustic storm back in the early 2000, who could ever forget the songs Close and Moonlight Over Paris?  Since this is not actually a huge crowd concert, we can get to see and listen to Paolo Santos up close just like an ordinary gig in a bar or restaurant Tickets are only for P500 inclusive of dinner.

Tickets for Paolo Santos live now available at Woodstone Kitchen located along Basilic Road, in front of radio station DWLV. For inquiries call 4732015 / 09106778811

Naga City: Lenten Special Menu

It's the Season of Lent and some of you (Catholics) are observing fasting and abstinence. Although it's only observed during Ash Wednesdays and Good Fridays there are some people who go beyond this observance and do extra sacrifices than the usual. I'm not indulging you to be gluttonous this time of the year but here are options here Naga if you will abstain from meat. Bookmark this page as we add more to this list!

Bigg's Diner Seafood Specials
(Please do take note that these are regular on the menu of Bigg's and you can enjoy them anytime of the year)

The good ol'  California Tuna Sandwich of Bigg's Diner
is perhaps one of the ld time favorites of every local here in Naga.

Spicy Gamberetto
I have personally tried this and it's spicily yummy! Enjoy it solo or for sharing.

Fish Creole, Daing na Bangus and Tuna Salpicao

Woodstone Kitchen & Bar

Naga City - Woodstone Kitchen has been one of our all time favorites when it comes to a twist in Bicol culinary. From its humble beginning back in 2013 in Bora Hut Food Temple as it's first location and as the last resto standing in the food complex, Woodstone Kitchen now has joined the entertainment and dining strip of Magsaysay Avenue. All your favorites are now in a bigger kitchen and place plus a bar. Everything has just gotten better and we have personally witnessed its growth in the industry.

Woodstone Kitchen & Bar is now located along Balatas Road, in front of DWLV, Magsaysay Avenue Naga City. Customers with cars need not worry on where to park since the front yard can accommodate around 6 to 8 depending on the kind. As you enter, an open bar will welcome you. Though this is an open bar, access to the place is safe and secured.

With enough lighting on the table for your food and drinks, the lights from the main bar will definitely set your mood accompanied by chill house music or a live acoustic performance every Wednesdays to Sundays from 9pm to 1am. Beside the main bar is spacious garden with tables.

Because Woodstone is more than just a kitchen, they now have a BAR. Many if not most of the drinks are definitely new in the menu and you will never run out of options. They have cocktails, beer, mocktails (non-alcoholic), shakes, hot drinks and a lot more!

The bar's design is a mixture of wood and metallic displays.

A sight of miniature bottles. This made me smile, because we also have a few at home.

For me, this lamp has been very symbolic for Woodstone.
It somehow reminds me of Woodstone's humble beginnings back in Bora Hut Food Temple.

Around January of this year, Woodstone has finally opened the newest wing of the restaurant. A fully air-conditioned dining area cozy enough for family gatherings. On the right wing is a function room are three long tables, suited for corporate and office meetings with a sliding wooden door for exclusivity. You don't have to worry about the music outside the bar because it's actually sound proofed and all you can hear is a little of the beat of the music.

Woodstone's Function Room
And now the latest facility is the private Videoke Room! If you're lucky enough that the room is available, then enjoy your food with your own type of music that you can sing out loud.

It's not anymore a debate that Woodstone has grown so well into a food destination here in Naga City. Back when Woodstone was just a smaller kitchen, my first impression was "sayang ng menu nila, bagay ang food sa isang FULL restaurant". I'm glad that this has become a reality. This is because Chef Ton of Woodstone has been very witty when it comes to creation of new dishes and expansion has been a breeze.

Who will ever forget the first ever Crispy Pinangat in Bicol?
Woodstone has indeed went beyond the "Pizza, Pasta, & Meals" tagline.

Woodstone's version of Paella. Huge serving indeed! Sulit na sulit sa presyo!

Bicol Express Pizza!! You should try this!

Antonio's El Diablo Grilled Pizza
(Spicy bbq sauce, cheese, ground angus beef, black olives, bell pepper, onions and anchovies)
Pork Sisig

Their Nachos has been my favorite appetizer!
Aglio Olio would be my favorite pasta in Woodstone.
The Cripy Tuna Tail and Lechon Belly has been gaining popularity too.

Woodstone is definitely one of the best in Naga. If you haven't tried it, it''s never too late,
visit Woodstone Kitchen & Bar with your friends or family.

A Testament to the 'Little Kitchen Big Taste'

“There is no such thing as free lunch.” Only free sumptuous dinner for four won by my brother at WoodStone Kitchen.

And how was it possible??? Kindly ask Naga City Deck (NCD).

After the Traslacion Procession mass, my siblings, my former professor and her daughter was accompanied by Naga City Deck to WoodStone Kitchen located at Bora Hut Food Temple, Peñafrancia Avenue Basilica Road (CLICK HERE for the latest review last March 2015), Magsaysay Avenue, Naga City. The place was cozy and a little bit rustic, a right place for relaxation and dining, to chat and jam with friends, family and colleagues. Preparing good food really takes a little bit of time and after patiently waiting, foods were served.

Sinigang na Ulo ng Tuna, Buttered Chicken, Pork and Vegetable Medley, Iced Tea and of course hot steamy rice while NCD ordered Sisig and Nachos. …………… What? Waiting for something????

Both my parents cook superb meals and that affected our tastebuds and standards in eating. Well, Chef Ton you made it very clear that WoodStone Kitchen serves one of the best home cooked meals in Naga City I’ve ever tasted.

Sinigang na Ulo ng Tuna makes me giggle with that tangy sour soup, the buttered chicken has that “melts in your mouth” feeling bursting with buttery garlic flavor, you gave justice to the Pork meddling in fresh and crisp vegetables making it a healthy menu and that home brewed Iced Tea was superb that I winked after my lips touched the glass. Pork Sisig was not that oily compared to others, the kick of hot pepper was just right not to make me choke and ask water to drown the spicy taste and the Nachos omgee reminds me of Mexico. That was a night to remember.

Crispy Pinangat? C4 Cake? More about Woodstone Kitchen HERE

Think I’m just bluffing this all? Well why you don’t lead your feet and your stomach to WoodStone Kitchen after you have read this to experience what I have been narrating. Again from my brother, sister and me, a big thanks to Naga City Deck for introducing WoodStone Kitchen and to Chef Ton for preparing that wonderful meal. Next time I’ll try that Seafood Paella. -- by Kookai Sabareza

Year 2013 with NCD

2013 is almost over and what a journey it has been for www.nagacitydeck.com. Year 2014 will be a little special, for we will be celebrating our 5th year online. Before we head on to our 5th year journey, allow me to thank the following people for giving color to our blog and allowing us to experience first hand what Naga City industries can offer to us locals giving us a reason to stay. Hopefully NCD was able to influence fellow Naguenos what we can enjoy here in Maogmang Lugar.

JANUARY
Mr. Kengkoy PH for showing us how social entrepreneurship can give a positive social change to our community. Wearing Mr. Kengkoy backpacks does not only give us a fashion statement but a genuine statement of caring for our local communities' welfare. Kudos to Mr. Kengkoy, hope to see more bags next year!

NuecaPOS RS - Nueva Caceres Technology Solutions Inc. launched a mobile app the Nueca Point of Sales Restaurant Edition. They are the same team who made iTyphoon which is known worldwide. Yes! We do have mobile app developers based in Naga. We are so damn lucky to have this kind of industry in the city.

Kick off of Bigg's 30th Anniversary - Witnessing how Bigg's takes care of their employees gives us more reasons to patronize our homegrown brand. 30 years of providing 'good food' to Bicolanos is a milestone that we really have to celebrate. Thank you Bigg's!

FEBRUARY
Who would have taught that someone from NCD Facebook page was so kind enough to give me a Starbucks Planner? Well it did happen, Ms. Jet Jet, a total stranger reminded and inspired me more to continue what I'm doing online here in ncd.

MARCH
David Pomeranz in Naga City - I value simple moments, as they become vivid memories. Welcomed, greeted, hand shaked, photographed and watched David Pomeranz's live performance. Thank you Avenue Plaza Hotel, the organizers, Ms. Apple and Fr. Andrew!

APRIL
A Benefit Dinner Concert for the Thyroid and Breast Cancer Surgery Patients with Luke Mejares, Kitchie Nadal and Juris. Also got to taste a recipe of one of the most skillful and talented ladies in Naga, Junior Master Chef Louis Mabulo. Three artists in one night of performance was awesome. Thank you for having us there.

JUNE
P-Bar at Magsaysay - One of the best bars in town! This place has become a personal favorite. Great food with the coldest beer in town, the Beer Below Zero. The place is almost always crowded with the youth, yuppies, professionals.. see? P-Bar it is for everybody. Looking forward for an even more amazing year with P-Bar!

JULY
A fellow Nagueno, now based in Auckland. Thank you for the pasalubong, that is sooooo useful for NCD (blogging has been a whole lot easier) and in my profession.

SEPTEMBER
Afternoon Tea was introduced to Naguenos by Cafe Plazuela of Avenue Plaza Hotel - Another first in Naga or in Bicol perhaps. Have a cup of tea with delightful cakes, pastries or sandwiches, all these are best enjoyed with your company. Avenue Plaza Hotel never fails to let us experience the good life.

A little kitchen with big taste - Woodstone Kitchen. Thank you Woodstone for showing us how diverse your menu is. From local dishes to international cuisines, Woodstone Kitchen has a lot of ideas to share to Naguenos and Bicolanos. I bet the coming year will be even more exciting for Woodstone. More power!

SMB Fiesta Fever at Avenue Square with Calalily and Banda ni Kleggy -  The month of September is always a busy month for all of us Naguenos. Avenue Square the first lifestyle center in Magsaysay have always given us a star studded fiesta.

OCTOBER
University of the Philippines Harong or commonly known as UP Harong. They conduct a yearly Academic Fest for high school students. It's so nice to keep in touch with the youth through this academic event. Thank you for having NCD as one of your online social media partner for the 2nd time in a row.

DECEMBER
Two New Sets of Afternoon Tea - For the first time, I was with fellow bloggers and "social media influencers". They were my company in trying out the two new sets of afternoon tea offered by Cafe Plazuela. I can't thank enough Ms. Apple for always pampering us when we are at the Avenue. While having met the two amazing Chefs of Cafe Plazuela, it has always been heartwarming being welcomed by Mr. Allan Cu, the GM of the hotel. God bless you more Avenue!

Gas Up!
I attended a wedding in Tagaytay last December 18th and I had to look for means on how to save a little since I was on a tight budget. God really knows how to provide for my road trip. Two gasoline stations serving Naguenos with a very competitive price - Stop And Fill Express (SAFE) Gas Station with branches at Roxas Avenue (Diversion road beside Bangkot Sentral) and San Felipe. Stop and Fill offers almost a peso lesser than the major gas stations. If you are brand conscious, I will recommend Caltex also along Diversion road. Thanks a lot Ms. Cathy of Stop and Fill and Mommy Myonee of Caltex! God bless you more!

Shawarma All The Way!
For us, Spice Eleven Shawarma offers the best shawarma in town. With two branches beside St. Joseph School and 2nd Level of Nagaland E-mall. So either you're on the go or at the mall, Spice Eleven will always spice you up with their tasty shawarma.

I also would like to apologize if I have missed or delayed other requests because of my busy schedule. I'll make sure that the delayed features will be set for January. 2014 will be our 5th year, every corner of Naga City Deck is growing and I'm trying to learn every aspect of it. I will try my very best this 2014 to keep a timetable between my work and NCD. Dios Mabalos po sa gabos! I'm really excited for what's next in Naga this year!

Most importantly, thank you to our fellow Naguenos and those who are in love with Naga. Thank for supporting NCD. Maogmang bagong taon po saindo gabos!

P.S. Want to be featured next year? Let's have a talk, you can message me on NCD Facebook Page so that I can respond promptly.
