Dig Some Dimsums at The Crown Park Restaurant

Naga City - The Crown Park Restaurant favorites just keeps adding and adding more Asian cuisines to their menu. Just looking back at my previous post about Cafe Federico and The Park makes me admire how the food industry in Naga is flourishing. Naga may have passed by the stage of being a growing food destination. I think Naga has arrived to be a food destination here in Bicol because of the wide selection of restaurants catering to different palates of customers, local or foreign.

Buchi Buchi and Bola Bola Siopao for P100.
Ball game. The Buchi-Buchi is surprisingly competitive with other Buchis out in the market. Even our Social Media Influencer @yvetteducut was able to taste one and surprisingly she liked it. According to Yvette she doesn't really eat Buchi even though it's readily sold in a fast food chain.

Empress Siomai (left) at P90 and Japanese Siomai (right) at P140.
Not your regular siomai but definitely it is worth your every cent.

This Empress Siomai is MUST TRY. I absolutely love the sauce that comes along with it when served.

Spring Roll Vegetable for only P150. The slices are actually big and it comes in six. The roll is dense with vegetables and herb. Not bad for P150 for sharing.

Another MUST TRY, the Crown Fried Dumpling for P180 and comes in twelves. I must say this is very distinctive from the other regular siomais.

Together with the Bicol Bloggers, we all had these dimsums for snack but it felt like it was dinner. As of writing, these new dishes are only available at the Crown Park's branch at the New Crown Hotel in downtown Naga. Hopefully they can also serve this at the SM City Naga branch. These new goodies are really affordable. So what are you waiting for dig some dimsums at the Crown Park Restaurant now!

Oops! Wait! I just had to post this because this is an all time favorite of the restaurant, Beef Brisket partnered with Hung Ma Bread. For other delectable Chinese cuisines, visit my previous blog post HERE.

Graceland Naga Centro

Naga City - For us Nagueños, Graceland means home, it means Naga. Graceland played a huge role in Naga's food industry dating back in the 70's. Graceland is Graceland Food Industries Inc.'s "First Born" from among the other successful brands like Baker's Plaza, Geewan and Red Platter.

From the humble beginnings of a four-tabled "turo-turo" garage operation, Graceland Food Industries is now one of Bicol's Best Brands. Started by Mr. Felipe Dy Eng Chong, a multi-awarded pioneer in the fast-food industry, also a recipient of the prestigious Halyao Awards for Camarines Sur in 2011 by the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The Halyao Awards is the most reputable regional annual award given to Bicolano businesspersons/entrepreneurs whose outstanding and exemplary achievements lie not only in their entrepreneurial pursuits but more so in their contribution to the growth and development of the Bicol Region and its people. Commonly referred to as “Tyo Peping”, Mr. Felipe and his wife, Mrs. Felicidad Dy started their food business way back in 1976 using a loaned capital of just ten thousand pesos. Read more about Graceland's legacy, through this link.

Long before Jollibee and McDonald's landed in Bicol soil, Graceland was our fast-food restaurant to go to. Those in their early 30's and late 40's are familiar with that building (photo on top) along General Luna St. For quite a time, this has been the cry of Naga's children because of the rides available in the store. Did you have your birthday party here? As of writing, this lot beside PNB is now a parking space for the company's delivery trucks.

Graceland is a time-tested company which has grown into various brands that Bicolanos love. Last June, the newest branch of Graceland recently opened along Elias Angeles St. just right beside Nagaland E-mall. This branch by far has the most beautiful interiors from among the existing branches. The store is surrounded with motivational quotes framed in various sizes and also with artificial fruits in frames that will surely delight your senses because of its uniqueness. Lighting of the store is very cozy with different kinds of fixtures.

Though Graceland may be categorized as a fast-food, many can attest that the meals available Graceland is not really a "fast-food" type because of the good quality of food that they are serving. For those visiting Naga, Graceland can be likened to Goldilocks or Red Ribbon because of the in-house Baker's Plaza, one of Bicol's finest source of bread, pastries and cakes.

Graceland has many best sellers. Try the "So Bicol" meals, all paired with a Bicol specialty like Laing, Bicol Express or Pinangat. Though Geewan along P. Burgos Street, has been established as a tourist destination for Bicol Specialties, the "So Bicol" meals of Graceland are equally competitive to other restaurants.

Graceland is also very ideal for family and friends dining together. Salo meals like the Pancit Guisado is very  affordable and is good enough for 2 to 3 persons. Lomi, Halo-Halo and the Special Sizzlers (esp the Sisig with Egg) would be my personal favorites. Don't forget a slice of Concorde Cake or any other cake for that matter for your dessert or perhaps a cup of Chocolate Mousse.

And by the way, burgers might be ordinary but Graceland's Burger and Fries are definitely tasty and it does not have that "fast-food" aura.

Even when you go to the comfort room you will be reminded to just "follow your dreams".

Baker's Plaza goodies is a staple food in almost every Graceland store. Freshly baked cookies, bread, cakes and many other pastries for your daily consumption or special occasions. Baker's Plaza has been and is always reliable for all of us here in Bicol.

Other Graceland stores in Naga: Ground Level of SM City Naga and a few of their specialties are also served at the main branch of Baker's Plaza along P. Burgos Street.

Dinamita at Rj Cole Restaurant

Ever tasted something chilly that explodes in your mouth like that of a dynamite? Well, there's a restaurant here in Naga that will take eating pepper the easier way. Although this is quite known to Filipinos, eating sili in Bicol is really part of our culture. While siling labuyo will take a lot of courage to eat, DINAMITA will be much much more tolerable than that. Many of you might not like 'sili' that much, but most Bicolanos do. Now what is a DINAMITA and why is called DINAMITA?

According to RJ Cole Restaurants video on youtube... "sasabog ka sa sarap". Watch the short video clilp.

Dinamita is like Lumpia, but the pepper makes it more aromatic. Other recipes you can find online make use of lumpia wrapper, but in RJ Cole Restaurant, they use a special coating that makes their dinamita easier to bite. A literal dynamite explodes at the end, the chilliness of DINAMITA explodes towards the end part. The first few bites is fun, but more fun in the end. As what I've said, the chilliness is tolerable, meaning it's still mild and will let you eat more.

At RJ Cole Restaurant, one serving costs Ph 99.00 with 10 dinamitas and a creamy sauce. It took a while when I ordered one serving, I just hope next time it would be faster though, but it's worth the wait.

RJCOLE RESTAURANT is located at Elias Angeles Street naga city beside Vildaz Tailoring, towards the end of Alinood Pawnshop to be specific.

Enjoy!!

So there, why not order a dinamita, you'll explode sa yummyness (Sabi ni aiza) hahaha

Cafe Federico

Cafe Federico is a place where you can watch a part of downtown Naga City just like on a live TV. These windows (as shown in the photo) surrounding the cafe serves as your view deck of Elias Angeles Street, Plaza Quince Martires, San Franciso Church, and a part of P. Burgos St. and Penafrancia Avenue.

I just fell in love with the scenery, watching the pedestrians and vehicles pass by with old trees surrounding the Quince Martires that I could not help myself but take a few photos because I rarely dine in at this Cafe. Imagine looking at the same spot at night with the lights gleaming from the 24 hour food block, majestic lights of the church on the other side and top it off with the classic lamp posts of the plaza at the center. What makes Crown Hotel's spot very special is that, the curve bend is the turning point of INA going to Metropolitan Cathedral during Traslacion Procession every Penafrancia Festival.

While enjoying the view, one can order Cafe Federico's and The Park's favorites like the Hung Ma Bread, beef brisket, and other Chinese dishes. Oh, don't forget to order a cup of coffee while enjoying the scenery.

Cafe Federico is located on the 2nd floor of Crown Hotel Elias Angeles St. Naga City or contact them at (054) 473-1845
