Suhoton Beach, Brgy. Vito Siruma

Siruma is not just all about the long shores facing San Miguel Bay. Some parts has a view of the Pacific too. I’m sharing a different side of Siruma which is at Barangay Vito, accessible by boat. 🚣
🏝00:20 and 02:04-02:34 is the Sand bar at Brgy. Vito
🏝00:53 - 02:03 The Suhuton Beach for me is like the Dragonstone of Siruma. Well not so much, pero ung small tunnel has that feels haha pero push ko padin. 🤣GOT fan lang po talaga until now. 02:48 is by foot at Suhoton, look for the small tunnel at 03:00
⛰03:20 is at Old Siruma Island or Matandang Siruma na inaapod

Try to Google the location so that you can imagine where these beaches are. How far is it? From Brgy. Pamintan, Brgy Vito is only around 20 minutes far. So it will really depend kung sain na resort po kamo hali.

Quality time with family and relatives last April 14 indeed. Thank you Doc Dennis R. for bringing us there! Dios Mabalos po!

#NCDTravels: Camaligan Floating Restaurant / River Cruise

Just beside Naga City lies a town with significant contribution to Bicol history, Camaligan. Passing through the town’s arch is a marking with the name and a year which is 1775. As we all know, if a place is situated near a river, civilization is almost always existing as it breeds trade and economy. Just recently, Camaligan now embraces a new role in contributing to the tourism industry of the Philippines showcasing the life of the Bicol River, the Camaligan Floating Restaurant and also famously dubbed as Camaligan River Cruise.

As a quick escape from the city life, just around 15 minutes from the Naga City proper is a river cruise that you can immerse in. As a front, the MB Camaligan, is at the same time a floating restaurant that can cater to your events. It’s very ideal for exclusive celebrations for around 40 pax max. There’s no way that the guests can escape from your event.

 You approach the sunset

An old dock, not your everyday view

While you face towards the sunset, look back and you'll also see Mt. Isarog
I’m a visual learner and appreciates a lot what I do not see everyday. As for me, the rate is actually for the natural sounds and sights that you get as you cruise along the river and the food is just an extra. Does the river smell (foul)? No, not really.

You can actually see locals waiting for their boat as their means of transpo of getting to the other side of the river.

Lovely Dusk

MB Camaligan cruises twice, Lunch and Sunset. Now it depends upon your event but the #SunsetCruise IS LIKE NO OTHER. You’ll be lucky to see migratory birds along the way. After your sunset cruise, the Camaligan Boulevard is a relaxing treat near the wharf. Enjoy the lights and soft breeze of air from the river. Walk a little towards the end of the boulevard to the I ❤️ Camaligan sign, you’ll also get to see beautiful bricked edifice which is the old cemetery of the town.

Rive Walk or Camaligan Boulevard at night.

Where to Stay in Naga City: Villa Caceres Hotel

Yey!!! Now completing my staycation diaries of the pioneering hotels in Naga. After experiencing first hand Avenue Plaza Hotel and Crown Hotel, here’s the good ol’ but classically beautiful Villa Caceres Hotel. VCH rooms offer a Victorian interior plus many upgraded hotel amenities that can complement your lifestyle. Villa Caceres is now on its 25th year serving Naga and Bicol’s guests, just wow!

Had a “me time/down time/quiet time call it any way you want it at VCH’s Executive Suite now I can personally recommend them with conviction. While yes, it’s basic to recommend what we have here in Naga, but guided by my principle, it’s indeed important to have them personally experienced to better understand how our services here in Naga work.

Villa Caceres Hotel can actually be of service to different guests. There are rooms for the budget conscious especially for travelers, offering dormitory type rooms, a solo room with basic hotel accommodation and the new wing with premiere rooms having Victorian interiors like this Executive Suite.

The room, #242 has a small balcony overlooking a neighborhood. Oh, the room is a non-smoking room.
The Executive Suite comes with a complimentary buffet breakfast good for 2 pax at RJ's Buffet and use of the swimming pool.
I just love every bit of detail of the Victorian interior.
The room has a quiet split-type AC unit which is individually controlled according to your temperature preference, a 32" Samsung LED? TV with Cable connection and USB ports should you have storage devices with your own movies. The room has a huge work desk with lamp and telephone beside the bed (no extension of the phone inside the bathroom).

There's a mini bar, with the basic electric kettle, cups and saucers, coffee and bottled mineral water. There's a mini-ref as well, a closet with hangers, luggage rack and bathrobes. There's also an electronic lock safe for your important belongings.

The bathroom has of course the hot and cold shower, towels, hair dyer, basic toiletries like shower caps, shampoo & conditioner,  soap, toothbrush & toothpaste for your dental needs and a very nice bathtub.

VCH also makes sure that you get updated with their latest offerings and events.
Cozy and comfortable bed.
And of course waking up as the sunlight touches you coming from the balcony is always a lovely sight.

Complimentary buffet breakfast for two at RJ's Buffet. Yey!

Wasn't able to take much photos during breakfast because there were a lot of guests that day.

Really love this part of the hotel. This is an extension of the lobby from the front desk with elegant chairs that will make you feel like royalty.

Plus look up for a surprise and stargaze right then and there.

Indeed Villa Caceres Hotel has upgraded so much over the past few years. What I love about VCH is the flexibility of their services. Will be exploring more about them one by one hopefully in the next months to come. Will be updating this post from time to time but here are the rest of the amenities that for sure most of you have already experienced.

Rafabel's, one of my favorite cafes in Naga, also has a branch here in Villa Caceres. Rolando's Cafe, the in house restaurant of the hotel. RJ's Buffet, the fiesta all day buffet and the biggest in Naga. Beside it is of course the legendary Bistro Roberto, the bar and disco in one that has been entertaining Naga for decades. Anne's Pool Bar. The Health Resort Club (HRC) which comprises the GYM, POOL and SPA. You should check out their MVP Card too as it is loaded with privileges that will give you ample of discounts whole year round. There's so much to say about Villa Caceres now to be honest and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

#NCDtravels: 4 Things to do in San Lorenzo Ruiz, Camarines Norte

Camarines Norte, known as the "Gateway of Bicol" is by far a province that I have been exploring since 2014 as a blogger. From encountering paradise in Calaguas Group of Islands to more island hopping in the 7 islands of Mercedes, to visiting historical churches, to surfing and paragliding in Bagasbas Beach (this has yet to be ticked off in my bucket list), to historically walk through the first Rizal monument not only in the Philippines but in the world, to chasing waterfalls, to enjoying the unique flavors in the capital town, Daet and other towns in the province, one can go on with the list of fully exploring CamNorte in many ways.

Not known to many, CamNorte has a quiet town now fondly called SLR today. This town is a favorite destination for locals especially during summer due to its richness in water resources. Here are 4 Things to do in SLR and this can be a suggested itinerary too for a day tour.

1. Sightseeing in SLR Highlands - Overlooking the grenery of Camarines Norte with a portion of the province's mountainous side, overlooking the towns of Basud, Mercedes to the shores of Bagasbas while enjoying the lush site of mother nature. The site is around 10-15 minute ride from the municipal hall. The road is mostly unpaved, SUV's and all wheeled drive vehicles should easily make it or have the option to rent a habal habal from the town hall. We luckily saw either an eagle or a hawk freely flying around that morning and this only means one thing, the place is really undisturbed. This site is just about to be offered to tourists, I am hoping that this area can be carefully developed without drastically disturbing its natural state.

"Susong Daraga", noticeable in the photo

2. Ride the Longest Zipline in Bicol - SLR holds the longest zipline in Bicol to date.  I'm a first timer at that and I'm really glad that I did it here and that is 375 + 380 meters long as it connects two Barangays, Matacong and Maisog. With this distance, the rate is only P250 for the sitting position and P350 for the superman position. Promise, you will enjoy the view! Towering coconut trees, mountains on one side and a flowing river underneath your feet are the breathtaking views that you will enjoy from this zipline.

3. Take the Tramline - For the faint of heart and for those who are still not ready to take the zipline (but please do take it, you will not regret it I promise), you can also try the cable car for only P50.00. This ride will allow you to take photos rather decent and be able to identify the sites to the point of identifying one of the island of Mercedes which is Canimog Island.

The long way for the locals before the tramline existed. Matacong Hanging Bridge, connecting Matacong and Maisog.
Just to add up value, the tramline is a big help to the locals of these two barangays especially for transporting their agricultural products like these coconuts in the video wherein they pay .50 cents per piece.

Notice in the video below is a man carrying loads of coconuts who we saw near the river, with about 60 kilos on his back but traveling by foot through the Matacong Hanging Bridge (as seen from the zipline view). Imagine the weight and the trail he has to traverse just to get his coconuts sold. The hanging bridge is about a kilometer hike downhill from the zipline station.

These locals work hard to earn for their day to day necessities. Trips like these always serves as a reminder for us who lives in cities that there are people who has more difficult jobs than ours and yet they can smile and work harder for their families. ❤️

4. Have a refreshing dip at Mampurog River - Club Noah is just one of the resorts in San Lorenzo Ruiz that has access to the rich river system of this town. They have very nice cabanas  overlooking the running waters of Mampurog river. They also have cottages, umbrellas and they also allow camping. Remember this is an Eco-friendly resort, do away of leaving any thrash especially near the river and the facilities are almost all back to basics.

 Club Noah
Brgy. Mampurog,San Lorenzo Ruiz, CamNorte
Entrance: P10.00 only
Open from 7AM t o 6PM

How to get to San Lorenzo Ruiz? From Camambungan, Van & Jeepney Terminal in Daet, take the Jeepney to San Lorenzo Ruiz. Just tell the driver to drop you off to Brgy. Matacong where the zipline is. Fare is Php23. Travel time from Daet to Matacong is around 30 mins
