#NCDFoodtrip: Jungle Brew Dayangdang

 #NCDfoodtrip It took me a while to visit Jungle Brew in Dayangdang and I am just this happy and excited because I’m sharing this post, same day of my visit. Jungle Brew is located at 26 J. Soler St former SOLID st, Dayangdang Naga City. Open from 11AM - 9PM from Tuesdays to Sundays.

𝓒𝓪𝓵𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓰, 𝓯𝓵𝓪𝓿𝓸𝓻𝓯𝓾𝓵 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓱𝓸𝓶𝓮𝔂. A mix of old and new. From the old house converted into an 𝙖𝙡 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙤 𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 restaurant, it has this calming effect on me plus to mention, every 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐚 would certainly enjoy the varieties of plants in the garden. And hey the place actually looks good at night.

If there are such things as fairies and genies, Jungle Brew has also something “𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝘽𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚”. What am I talking about? To add to this 𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 is the 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 Artea-Craftwhich I reallllly realllly love and you can only get this here at Jungle Brew. Non-caffeine, non-laxative, all natural color and sweetener in a pretty glass Tea Pot ready to be shared. Every flavor has it’s unique benefits and you can have a refill of hot water until taste lasts. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹!What we had is the 𝙂𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙤-𝙍𝙤𝙨𝙚. Everything is just so pretty! Food is just flavorful and there’s a distinct taste to which you can say that it’s from Jungle Brew.

Platters (Grilled Rosemary Liempo, Sweet Chili Glazed Chicken and Buffalo Chicken)

The favorite of many, as I have heard, are the 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐎 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐒 like the Pizza, pasta and chicken in one and just add P100 for the In-House Tea. I guess at an average it’s good for 2-3 persons or just a little over 4. Pizza plus the In-House Tea is also another combo to choose from.

Fruit teas and milk tea are also available.

They accept private bookings and intimate gatherings too.

It was a calming Sunday at Jungle Brew. BIG THANKS to my Jungle Brew friends!! Excited for my next visit to try the other house blend tea with friends, my officemates will surely love this!

#NCDfoodtrip: White Bean Cafe

#NCDfoodtrip Sain kita makakan? A simple question yet difficult to answer if you are in Naga City. Sa ka-centrohan kan ciudad, may White Bean Cafe'.

What’s the first thing in mind when you hear about White Bean Cafe? Me, it’s pasta. The first time I blogged about White Bean was way back 2012 and pasta has been one of the reasons I always come back. This time we had Gambasetti 🍝Yum!!! Just look at the serving size.

Being one of the dainty cafés in the downtown area of Naga, White Bean also serves rice meals that are actually just waiting for you to discover. Just look at White Bean’s Beef Kare-Kare. Not only that it is plated well with Puso ning Batag (Banana Flower) but it’s very delicious, with a serving size for one person and can also be shared should you have other dishes.

White Bean is also known for sandwiches of different kinds commonly paired to their pastas just like the Chicken Pesto Tomato. 

I can still remember that White Bean was also one of the first cafes in Naga that introduced the Italian Soda. White Bean’s coffee has also been established well when it comes to getting that perfect brew whenever you are in the busy streets of Naga.

At White Bean you can actually enjoy their food and drinks in a pleasant interior, light to the eyes and just right enough to enjoy a quiet meal. Oh, did you know that they also serve Kakigori? 🍧A Korean shaved-iced dessert that would really delight you if you’re craving for something sweet. Link to post 

Did you know that even though White Bean is in CBD I, they actually have enough parking spaces at the back of Nagaland Hotel? While Centro Naga is now becoming a “walking city”, meaning, it’s better for you to walk it off to reach a certain establishment, White Bean is right where you need them to be.

I have always been proud of homegrown brands like White Bean, because they are now time-tested despite the many other cafes in and out of the city. (Wasn’t able to take photos of the whole place because there were other customers )

Sabi ngani kaiyan, Naga may be an inland city, pero we are known to have sooooo many restaurants, homegrown that is, maiba-ibang klase, mamili ka sana. And I believe this is one of the reasons why Naga is called “An Maogmang Lugar”, yes we are happy to welcome national and international brands, but at the end of the day, we Nagueños keep coming back to our homegrown brands that they become our comfort foods and White Bean is one of them. ❤️

#NCDfoodTrip: Coconatz, A Bicolano Restaurant

GINATAANG SISIG. The first dish that would probably come to mind when it’s about Coconatz- A Bicolano Restaurant. Just visited this new resto along Dayangdang and they offer various Bicolano dishes in a casual (to a semi fine dining) set up with slow music, enough seats, high ceiling which makes the whole place lit up.

From the name of the restaurant itself, they played along with of course Bicol’s bounty harvest of 🥥coconut milk/gata, but there are many other Bicolano dishes that they made into something special.

We ordered the following:

Crispy Dilis, Tinolang Manok (Sabaw ng Buko) something similar to another resto in Naga, interesting Sizzling Beef Sinigang, ❤️ Ginataang Sisig, Pinoy Salad with Salted Egg which I also like because it reminds me of Ilocos dishes.

Hungrily, a food delivery app in Naga City

Midweek, lazy to go outside of the office and to drive for lunch. I finally decided to try Hungrily, an app which allows Nagueños to order from a handful of restaurants (25+ and counting) here in the city and have it delivered right to your doorstep. I miss Japan-Japan located in Mariano Village in Magsaysay and it’s not found in the main thoroughfares of Naga too. If I will go there for lunch, it will take me around 20 minutes max just get there and another 20 minutes  going back because of city traffic from where I work. Add up the waiting time for the cooking. So I ordered the following via Hungrily.

Hungrily is a food delivery app that brings together top restaurants and food brands from Naga City into a beautiful digital platform.With a few taps, you can have your favorites delivered to where you are, hassle-free.If you don't like dealing with traffic, are too busy to go out for dinner, have a study session with friends, hosting a dinner party, or simply  hungry or something delicious, this app is for you.

Placed my order at 11:02 am. The app is very easy to navigate, just a few taps and your order is ready to be processed. After 8 minutes, I received a phone call confirming my order. Food arrived at 12:12. An hour of waiting time is not bad at all. Take note, I ordered a Ramen so I was a bit worried that it won’t be hot anymore. From 1 to 10, 10 being the "hottest", the Ramen was on an 8 level of "hotness". Just perfect to be eaten! Hungrily saves the day, cuts the travel time from my work place to this hole in the wall foodie destination in Naga.

Hungrily is very ideal for someone (like me) who from time to time gets bored eating from the same food sources within my work place. Hungrily saves the day for someone who sometimes get caught with paper works on a lunch break or even on meriendas.Delivery charge is very competitive, sulit lalo na kapag in bulk ang order. At first, I really wanted something from Japan-Japan and Infinitea at the same time. So I messaged Hungrily via their Facebook Page and asked the questions: “Is it possible to order from two establishments at the same time? Does it mean there will be two delivery charges?” As of writing, it’s not possible to order from two establishments in one transaction. You’ll have to do separate transactions for every restaurant with a separate delivery charge of course. Hopefully Hungrily can explore on this option and have a separate amount of delivery charge should one wish to order from more than one establishment.
