Color Splash Run in Naga City

Naga City - Havaianas shares its positive energy, fun and colors to six (6) charitable organizations (Bantay Bata, Zonta, Rotary, SM Cares Foundation, Pay it Forward Project Asia Foundation, and Gawad Kalinga in Naga City ) through the Color Splash Run on January 17.

Color runs have been existent in Naga but to add splash in color is way more cooler. The race will start at the Avenue Plaza Hotel and will end at SM City Naga. Participants will go through six “color-dousing stations” representing six charities as the beneficiaries of this event. Stations will be situated along a three-kilometer route in Naga City. The stations will contain colored powder, colored water guns, colorful balloons with colored water inside, and colourful confetti at the end of the run. A mini concert featuring local DJs and Zumba party to be led by licensed instructor will await participants at the finish line (SM City Naga Parking Space), where there will also be a “color splash” in celebration of the solidarity of community, support of charity, and vibrant & festive Havaianas spirit. There will also be a raffle in which participants (limited to freq card users) will get a chance to win Havaianas items. So what are you waiting for, jump-start your year with a run and a splash of colors!

• A participant must submit a photo depicting how to enjoy summer in BICOL. Yep you read it right, in BICOL, because we should love the whole Bicol Region as much as we love the heart of Bicol. It can involve people, food, arts, culture, hobby, landmarks, street scenes, etc.). A participant can send as many entries but he/she can only win once. BE CREATIVE and UNIQUE!

Loving Avenue

Love is becoming an icon of Avenue Square and Avenue Plaza Hotel. Not only because they have a LOVE sign at the Avenue but most importantly because they know how to love and pamper their guests.

One weekend, we decided to cool off the day and use the pool pass given to me by Avenue. We were having second thoughts of having a dip because it was actually the windy day of June 2, 2012. But then again we pushed through with it and arrived at the hotel at around 6 in the evening. Grrrr it was a chilly dusk.

We headed up to the locker and changing room and prepped ourselves for the swim. Peeking through a small room inside the changing room is the Sauna room.  The Sauna didn't entice me to get in simply because I had no intentions of vaporizing myself. Why? I believe I do not have enough fats to burn out because I'm excessively slim. lol Everything was there, towel, shampoo, soap, hair dryer with a cold and hot shower. All you have to do is just bring yourself and extra clothes.

View from the pool is a portion of Olympia Gym that I've never been to. 

It was a Saturday, the infinity pool of Avenue Plaza Hotel looks so beautiful at night with the accented lights on the sides of the pool itself. Plus, be relaxed with the sound of a background music being played for hours. The water was great, I thought it was cold, but it wasn't.

It was a good timing, there were only few hotel guests and or gym members who were using the pool because actually they are the only ones who have access it. I just wished there's also a membership for pool usage alone. People like me, I believe, do not need to enroll in a gym. I do not know how to swim, but mind you, our swim at the infinity pool made me love the water very much and even thought of that idea regarding pool usage.

We spent about 2 and a half hours at the pool and when we were about to call it a night, I could not believe myself that I was floating here and there. Kung nuarin linilipot na si mga kaibahan ko, saka man lugod ako ginanahan ning todo. haha

I was actually surprised, no kidding. 

I was enjoying the pool all by myself!!

It was getting dark, we ended the night with delighted hearts and an unforgettable experience. The opportunity that was given to me by Avenue Plaza Hotel is a once in a lifetime experience indeed. I am an averaged income earner and I do not have the luxury of time and money to be in that beautiful place. I seldom set foot  atAPH not unless there are parties or wedding receptions that I get to be invited. I dunno when will I be able to swim there again.

Oh, btw, Avenue Plaza Hotel got recently awarded by Trip Advisor. APH may not be a 5 star hotel but it's the best in the Bicol Region. Hotel guests can testify to that.

Post Anniversary Treat from Avenue

Monday, April 16, 2012, I unexpectedly received a message via our Facebook Page
from a representative from one of the biggest establishments here in Naga City, Avenue Square / Avenue Plaza Hotel. As I read the message and I quote...

As for your 3rd Anniversary, we have a gift for you. Let's meet this week for your post anniversary treat?

 ... I really felt amazed and blessed because I wasn't really expecting anything in return for what I'm doing here in Naga City Deck. Because of that happiness, honestly, I literally read the message over and over again because it felt like it's unbelievable (Mga pinoy talaga, totoo na nga nagdududa pa lol). Since it was the first day of the week and full of office transactions, I decided to meet Ms. A, the following day.

A little bit of trivia first: Whenever I post entries, I never give out my personal details. I also rarely post my entries on my own personal account. I promote establishments, events and a lot more and does not require monetary concerns because I love my city, I love promoting Naga as a whole. In short, for 3 years I kept myself in the shadow and I liked it that way it is. Hence, this was the first time that I decided to meet someone knowing me as Naga City Deck.

Tuesday, April 17, after 5 pm, it's time! It's time to meet Ms. A and I will be introducing myself as NCD. Due to my shyness, I even convinced my officemate to accompany me to go to Avenue Square. I sat down outside Shakey's and fed myself the confidence that I needed. Ms. A called up and told me to go to Cafe Plazuela. Now I even got nervous! So I stood up and faced my fears, and went to the hotel's entrance to meet Ms. A.

Cafe Plazuela, is a fine-dining restaurant at the Avenue Plaza Hotel and I chose to stay outside near the pool area as it makes me more comfortable. The post anniversary treat started with an envelope... and viola...

Imagine,an Italian experience at the pool area of the Avenue Plaza Hotel, this is just so rewarding! It was too plenty for me I admit. 

Ms. A, from the Marketing Department is full brilliant ideas and is behind the recent activities of Avenue Square and Avenue Plaza Hotel for over a year now and I'm so glad to have met her.

For 3 years of updating the Naguenos and Bicolanos,  I felt that this 3rd year anniversary will mark the beginning of a new level for Naga City Deck and Avenue made me realize that (and so did Ms. A).

NCD has been my hobby for three years. When you do something passionately, time is not against you, it's going along with you in perfect blend and harmony. Parang kape lang eh. haha Blessings do really come when you least expect it. Thanks to Papa God!

Future tie ups with Avenue Square / Avenue Plaza Hotel is something to look forward to and I'm really excited! So NCDeckers, stay tuned for that :) From the bottom of my / NCD's heart, thank you so much!
