Chinese New Year Seafood Buffet at Krypton Grill

Krypton Grill has one of the best Pork Sisig I've ever tasted in the metro and that's one thing I'll never forget.

Celebrating Chinese New Year at Krypton Grill Mayon was truly unforgettable for this very night I have had done and experienced a lot of "firsts".

Krypton Grill is near Naga City Civic Center

Check out that mini bridge serving as an entrance to this resto. Kinda reminds me of being in a garden and yes the place was full of costumers.

The place was neat, rustic but modernized perfect for dining, having some drinks, meeting with colleagues and also for alone time.

There was a reminder for the diners who will avail of their Seafood Buffet.

An array of seafood was the highlight of the night. The buffet includes Calamares, Baked Tahong (Mussels), Halabos (Shrimp), Halaan, Chili Crab, Sotanghon Guisado, Seafood Paella, Tikoy, Fruits and the of course the humble rice.

Seafood Paella and Chili Crab was my favorite. To tell you I am allergic to seafood but this didn't stop me from munching and I think this meal needs something...BEER!!!. I drank a tab of antihistamine and a glass of milk tea before this. Allergy no more!!!

And that's not all, we met Superman well not Superman Superman but the owner of the grill. We have learned that Krypton Grill is the only resto in the metro that serves Exotic Dishes. And one of this is their famous Crocodile Sisig. The meat comes all the way from a crocodile farm in Palawan, a must try when you visit the place.

The crocodile sisig is the only exotic food that we have tried, so this means we have to come back and try the others.

Kara-Oke or Video-Oke lovers may also try their Smallville Music Room.

And there was a "WOAH" moment. Smallville is a soundproof room so you and your "barkada" or family will not be disturbing to the other costumers and vice versa.

Smallville also has a spot for the Diva in you, plus you can have a party right there and there.

Yes, I know. Mr. Joemari Dizon, the owner is not a fan of Superman, not even a bit. Kidding!!!

Curious about my "firsts"???

And if you want to have some "firsts", visit Krypton Grill at 14 Taal Corner, Bulusan St., Mayon Avenue, Naga City or at Cresini Bldg. Triangulo, Naga City. ~ by Kookai Sabareza

Budget: Good value for money. Drinks ranges from Php 18 to 40. Main dishes are very affordable and they also serve solo meals

Store Hours: 11:00 am to 12:00 midnight

The Place: Al fresco style, simple and quiet, a good place for you and your friends to catch up some stories.

I was with my high school batchmates last Dec. 29, 2012 and we decided to have a light dinner/snack since most of us already ate our dinner. Get togethers with high school batchmates has always been awesome because we only see each other during special holidays.

Since Dec. 29 was a Saturday, we knew that it will be hard to penetrate along the major night spots in Magsaysay. True enough, Magsaysay was jam packed and was even hard enough to park any vehicle. We decided to try something new and we heard about this new restaurant along Taal Avenue. The name of the place is Daddy's Grill and I heard that they offer Ilocano dishes that made me delighted since our family often travel to the north to visit our relatives.

According to the owners, they wanted the place to be known because of the food and not really a place for a drinking spree just like other establishments along Magsaysay and Penafrancia Avenue. Yes, they serve beer but not sold in buckets. There's a place for every thing perhaps.

Creamy Spicy Bagnet
Bagnet is called the Ilocano Chicharon which is a very well known dish in Vigan along with Okilas (Chicharon with Dinuguan) and the Vigan Longganisa.
I must say that the creamy spicy bagnet has a touch of Bicol already since it has gata (coconut milk). It's not that spicy but it's crispy and sweet. Tasted good actually because of the fusion of the gata and the crispy pork. I believe this is their BEST SELLER.

Garlic Mushroom
This isn't really a unique dish, but serves as an appetizer or may be pulutan to many.
But hey, I love mushroom!

Inihaw na Liempo

Our order was a bit limited, so this means I have to go back and try the other dishes they have on the menu especially the unique ones. Seems like dads really want to prove they're good in the kitchen too and not only the moms. Congrats and more power to the owners for bringing another flavor in town!

The next photos are grabbed from the Facebook page of Daddy's Grill. Don't forget to like them on FB!

Sir Lancelot Cafe and Restaurant

Who is your knight in shining armor? Do you have one? Well probably in Naga, it might not just be a person in your life but also a cafe and restaurant.

The new restaurant in town is named after one of King Arthur's first and greatest legendary Knights, Sir Lancelot. The movie "First Knight" is one of my favorites when it comes to King Arthur's life and Lancelot's as well. Who could ever forget the love triangle of Richard Gere as Sir Lancelot, the great Sir Sean Connery as King Arthur and Julia Ormond as Guenevere.

I asked one of the crew members as to why they named the restaurant after Sir Lancelot, well the very honest answer that I got was "the owner wanted it that way" lol. Maybe I should have asked the owner herself, perhaps next time.

LOCATION: Mayon Avenue, Naga City. Very Near Triboo Grill Mayon Avenue Branch.

THE PLACE: The place itself looks English from the outside. There's a veranda on the second floor, and is very photogenic from the outside especially during a dusky atmosphere right after sunset.

Once you enter the main door of the restaurant, the bar and reception area is right in front of you and a staircase as you turn right is exactly near the doorstep as access to the second floor.  Most of the seats I believe are located on the second floor. The whole second floor is divided into two. The place is very ideal for small group meetings, family occasions and not to mention that it has as an impression of exclusivity, in other words, you can bring your dates here and enjoy quiet moments while eating delicious food. :)
Main entrance

At the veranda

At the second floor. There's not much to see, it's simple with a few wood crafts and displays. The place has an ambient lighting.

Stairs going down, is an access for the crew towards the cashier or kitchen

Since it's two floors and with partitions, if ever you need something, just ring the bell.

THE FOOD: Sir Lancelot Cafe and Restaurant is an advocate of "no msg" in cooking, this is a plus point for me as I was also raised with the same kind of cooking. The menu offers a variety of choices from appetizers, pasta, entree like pork, chicken, and beef, desserts, coffee, etc. This means there's a lot to try.
Frapp

Avocado Shake

The spaghetti is one of a kind!! It has a different recipe  than that of the classic spaghetti. Definitely it has a distinct taste and flavor. It's a must try.

Chicken Pesto

BUDGET: Around 120 to 250 pesos per person. Just like any other restaurants, I believe healthy cooking require a little extra from our budget. Serving might look a little small but the taste of the food is really good.

There you have it, Sir Lancelot will be waiting for you!

Triboo Grill @ Mayon Avenue

Triboo Grill
Mayon Avenue, Naga City

Isn't it amazing that everything what we crave for is here in Naga City? And that we have our own version of what is being served nationwide yet the taste is as competitive with the rest? Yes, we Bicolanos especially Naguenos really know how to patronize our homegrown products, food, and restaurants, for that matter Triboo Grill is one of them. The specialty served here is the "Triboo Chicken" served with a side dish of tomato with onion and unique blend of spices. Triboo Grill also serve Bicolano dishes. Don't forget to try out their unique Ice Cramble served with cheese on top and other tropical drinks on the go. Oh I almost forgot their Pancit also tastes good coupled with pandesal. Triboo Grill's concept might be the similar to tohers but the taste is uniquely Naga.

The second branch of Triboo Grill is near the right wing entrance (facing the mall) ground level of SM City Naga just right beside Greenwhich (CLICK HERE). While Triboo's first branch at Mayon Avenue (Photos shown below) have an al fresco feel with a native ambiance and there's also an air-conditioned function room at the 2nd floor good for meetings, gatherings, celebrations, anniversaries and the like. Triboo Grill also accepts DELIVERIES with contact number (054) 473-2323

Ano pang hinihintay nyo mga ka-triboo! Punta na sa Triboo Grill at tikman ang lutong Nagueno! May pa bonus pa, may UNLIMITED RICE na!
