I tried a one day juice cleanse and I love it

I have been drinking Pure Nectar by Fruit Magic for quite some time, but it's only when I have the chance to substitute my other drinks to this healthier option. Upon getting to know their products more, I knew that they have a 1 to 3 day juice cleanse sets and back then I had this thinking that I don't need it just yet. After having my lab test (that's the time when we get to feel a little something here and there), most of my results are on the normal range but I have to be on guard for my sugar and cholesterol level since the results are nearing the borderline. The cholesterol part is actually surprising for someone who is as slender and thin as me. LOL

For the first time, I tried a one day juice cleanse from Pure Nectar and I’m not gonna say that it was easy, but I am really happy that I pushed through with it.  I'm not a vegetarian, I'm not a fitness addict either and you guys know that I post a lot of my #NCDfoodtrip like I am an unofficial endorser of products and services that I really like. With my blogging life for 9 years, I realized that I have to be more mindful of what I eat and drink given the kind of lifestyle that I have.

Doing a juice detox will require you to become physically and psychologically ready, learn to accept that what you are doing is no joke and avoid temptations at all cost. I was actually worried about post-cleanse effects that may hinder me from doing my office work. So, I did a lot of reading and religiously followed the guidelines (HERE) about the one-day juice cleanse program of Pure Nectar.

Sometimes I realized that yes, we keep on consuming imported food supplements and vitamins that we forget that we Filipinos have a different kind of lifestyle and diet. Pure Nectar's juice cleansing program has an edge over other products because it is crafted according to an average Filipino's diet.

To keep it short, here are some quick guidelines about this one-day juice cleanse program of Pure Nectar.
  • Take a light high fiber meal the night before performing the juice cleanse. In my case, I ate kamote (sweet potato), yes, I was serious.
  • Can you eat during the day of your cleansing? As much as possible NO, so to achieve maximum benefits of the program. I'm so proud of myself I was able to achieve that! If it is unavoidable, however, a minimum amount of steamed, broiled, boiled or raw vegetables and/or fish is acceptable.
  • The only thing that you can actually consume during the program is WATER. Why? To avoid mouth sores, which is one of the normal detoxification reaction of the body.
  • NO COFFEE and other STIMULANTS on the day of the program and even a few days after.
  • Listen to your body during the detox process.
  • Don't forget to read the rest of the pre-during-post detoxification guidelines HERE

WARNING: Temptation to eat is really high! I actually felt like "busog ako pero gutom ako".  Imagine?! Possible pala 'yun! My body was actually screaming for some sugar and carbohydrates that day.

Follow the proper timing when to drink. If I was able to do it, you can do it too!

Once a follower on my page left a comment after I posted a not so healthy food and said "sayang ang Pure Nectar" and so I replied, "this is exactly why I need the Pure Nectar in my diet because I have a different kind of lifestyle."

RESULTS? I felt light and renewed after the program. It's a bonus that I was actually conscious of what to eat. Perhaps the only detoxification reaction that I got was a mild headache and it was tolerable. This juice program is not actually for weight loss, it's more about rebooting your system and flushing away all the toxins.

This set includes: 7 bottles of Pure Nectar cold-pressed juice: Mega Omega, Olympian, Tropical Fuel, Restore & Renew, Body Cleanser, Alka-Boost,Green Supreme, 1 bottle of Lemon Kefir (500mL), Reusable Thermal Bag

"Water kefir is a lacto-fermented beverage made with water kefir grains and sugar water. You would think that something made of sugar water would be overly sweet but that is not the case at all. The “grains” (called so for their appearance) feed on the sugar leaving it with an extremely mild sweetness. It’s a Probiotic! Probiotics are good bacteria that help you keep a healthy gut. These good bacteria help us to digest our food, prevent allergies, boost our immune system, and overall keep our body healthy. Since many probiotic supplements are not reliable we choose to get our probiotics through fermented foods – and water kefir is a great way to do that! Get Increased Immunity! That’s right, probiotics help to boost your immune system. This means that you will get sick less often. That’s great as we are headed into back to school season."
I love this reusable bag! This bag kept the juices cold throughout the day, well almost for the last bottle. This will be actually perfect for outings!

Pure Nectar also has a 2-day and 3-Day Cleanse set.

I think I might be doing this at least once a month or once in two months if budget permits. If I can buy a coffee or any other drink at a hundred plus or so, I believe I can actually push through with this. Not only that I was able to test my limits, but I was able to learn how to listen well to what my body needs. On to a healthier blogging life!!! Give it a try guys!

Converse Naga at Robinsons Place Naga

Chucks! Perhaps this is what usually comes to mind when we hear the brand Converse. Back in my highschool or college days, Chuck Taylors has been part of the wishlist, until now would you believe that it's still in my wishlist? Yep!

A few days ago I learned so much about Chuck Taylor himself and itself. I did know that it is not just a brand but a basketball icon back in the days. Little did I know that Converse has evolved its way from serving the military to sports and now to different lifestyles across different age brackets. Learned so much about the brand during the intimate media event. Did you know that there are three types of Converse? We all know the Chuck Taylor All Star, there’s the Jack Purcell the one with a Smile and the Cons with One Star. There’s always one for your style for sure because you can #WearItWithAnything. They also have other apparels like shirts, caps, bags etc.

Converse Naga is located at the Ground Level of Robinsons Place Naga (Almeda  Highway Side)

Did you also know that Converse has also added comfort to the soles of their sneaks because of the Lunarlon Tech of Nike? So guys, check out the new stand alone store of Converse at the Robinsons Place Naga now and find your pair now!

The more that I was able to appreciate my Cons (One Star) when I learned so much about the brand.
I’m torn between the nude colored sneaks or the white leather All Star. Which is which? The white will never go wrong in any outfit. Converse has basically led the trend when it comes to pairing it with anything.

CONS with one star. Basically a trend now for skateboarders.

Daiso at Robinsons Place Naga

Naga City - Japan, Japan! From restaurants offering Japanese foods we now have stores selling Japan products in Maogmang Lugar. While most items you'll see has a label "Designed in Japan, Made in China", these products still have that more sophisticated looks and better quality than that of a purely "Made in China" product. Daiso, which opened its first store in Bicol at the second level of Robinsons Place Naga is our go-to store when it comes to knick knacks and whatnots, that sometimes even when you don't plan on buying, you end up purchasing a thing or two when you go out of the store.

Here are 9 things/sections that I find interesting in Daiso, plus it's really fun to shop here and go through the racks one by one. You can find a lot of gift suggestions here too especially that the holidays are coming!

1. Pet Section - Most items are P88, bag dog carriers, doggie clothes, brushes, toys and a lot more!
Bought a few stuffs here, the Deo spray for Pet Toilets and Living Areas and a piece of doggy clothes for one of our dogs.

One of our dogs, Peppa, wearing the doggie clothes from Daiso. hehe
2. Mugs - Bought one of these for P188. Talk about cutting down caffeine intake, from a big mug to this small cup is definitely a good idea.

3. Teaspoons, chopsticks and other utensils - I just find them cute. lol If you have a cafe, these tiny spoons and forks can definitely be nice for your shop.

4. Vanity kits, purses, well-designed boxes and "abubots" for your office or room. These days we have so many additional stuffs in our bags, from chargers to powerbanks plus the cosmetics for ladies, you will definitely need them to be organized.

5. Skin care mask - There many other skin, hair and body products at Daiso. The skin care mask actually looks like the "rising tissue" hehe. I need your feedback guys, if anyone of you have tried any of their cosmetics, please make your recommendations as well.

6. Kitchenware - These coffee filters and freezer bags are actually Made in Japan as written in the packaging. Bought a box of that freezer bag and it came handy during the fiesta. We used it as our "pabalot" to some of our relatives. On the right is a wine holder. There are many other interesting items for your kitchen in Daiso.

7. Door stopper - reminds of the cartoon series called "Word World" lol

8. Chair Socks - I know it's not our practice as Filipinos to have our chairs use socks. I just find them cute, but perhaps there are household who really use them to avoid scratches on their floor perhaps. Would you find it weird  if I say that we can actually use them as SOCKS for OUR PETS? haha

9. Dry bag and Litter Picker - Some dry bags in department stores would cost a little bit higher but at Daiso it's only P188. I checked the quality and it's at par with the ones that costs P200 or more. Below the dry bag is the litter picker. My mom bought a few of these for work purposes.

Any other interesting stuffs you saw at Daiso? Care to share them on the comments below? Happy shopping!

Review: Tugawe Cove Cafe

Tugawe Cove Resort in Caramoan, Camarines Sur,  is one of Bicol's sought after tourist destinations. The exclusivity and the natural scenery being offered and not to mention the "Excellent" Trip Advisor ratings  is something that you can never deny that Tugawe is a must visit. Reviews and testimonies from those who have visited Tugawe means that the pay is worth the stay. Truth be told that I have been to Caramoan, but just not yet in Tugawe Cove Resort. The resort was actually included in CNN's list of the remote and luxurious retreats in the Philippines along with Ticao Island in Masbate.

A stepping stone to Tugawe Cove Resort is actually here in Naga City. Tugawe Cove Cafe located at the grande entrance of the newly opened Robinsons Place Naga will give us a glimpse of what the resort can offer to us gastronomically speaking. Just to get ahead of you, this is just a part of the whole gastronomic offerings of the resort.

I must admit, the first time I heard that there is a Tugawe Cove Cafe in Robinsons, my first impression was, "Hmm, pricing might be a little expensive compared to other existing cafes". Alas, I was wrong! Let me share to you some of the fine and unique dishes  Tugawe Cove Cafe has to offer.

Drinks come in Hot and Iced and starts at P50 to P130.  Coffee-blended drinks starts at P120 to P130 only. Blended non-coffee based drinks are at P120 and juices at P80. Sandwiches starts at P120 to P150. Pasta at P180 to P200. Rice plates from P180 to P220 and waffles at P120.  Dessert starts at P20 to P110. Wait until you see the uniqueness of the dishes.
Green Tea Latte, Mixed Berries Smoothie and Sea Salted Caramel
I ordered the Sea Salted Caramel and boy I loved it. I like it when it's not too sweet and overpowering. It's just perfect when paired with food.

Breakfast in Bed anyone? This, perhaps is the most interesting dish that the cafe offers. Likened to a chowder in a bread bowl, it's cheesy, creamy, with egg and pork? bits that actually add up to the flavor of a pizza but sprinkled with herbs which tells us that it's different. They bake their own bread and pastries too, so this it is a plus point for them.

From the kinds of pasta being offered by Tugawe Cove Cafe, we were able to try two of them. First is the Laing Mac. A closer look below...

The Laing Mac has a creamy base with of course Laing. This is definitely uniquely made in terms of taste. When Laing is perfect with rice, this Laing with the pasta blends well with bits of pork on it. Second pasta is the Bicol Express Cannelloni.

A closer look at the Bicol Express Cannelloni. It's like lasagna but with Bicol Express in it. I like that Laing Mac better.

They also have sandwiches like this on on the photo below called the Greek Panini.

Take a look at the interior of the cafe. Native interiors partnered with an industrial type steel bars plus the accent of the leaves on the wall will actually let you imagine how is to be at the resort. What more if you can actually sat by the beach front while enjoying the food of Tugawe Cove Cafe. Just wow!

I'm also loving the patterns, shades and hues of color present at the cafe. From the flooring to the fixtures and even the ceiling.

Oh, I almost forgot, they also have waffles for your dessert.

Seems like every cafe in Naga will always a nice ambiance, it's becoming a basic requirement and Tugawe Cove Cafe really did good job on that department. But what I really like about the cafe is the pricing of their food. With the kind of food that they are offering, plus the plating and the uniqueness, the prices are surprisingly affordable. So my first impression is definitely wrong and I have to give it to them. I hope it stays that way though =P

At least now I have taken one step forward to Tugawe Cove Resort lol. On to a few more saving up for that ultimate vacation that I may reach the cove and experience it myself. I also look forward to trying the other dishes and most especially their desserts. Leave on the comments below your favorites too, guys!

Thank you Tugawe Cove Cafe for having us! Thank you Ms. Sol for the invitation! God bless and more power!
