Thanksgiving mass for the Chinese New Year started the event at SJS. To kick off the event, firecrackers started to shoo away bad spirits. Assembly of the students, teachers and alumni association for the Lantern, Dragon & Lion Dance Parade. Route is from St. Jo to downtown Naga and back.

A dragon Dance and Lion Dance were performed at the Plaza Quezon. After which, a presentation by the Naga Hope Christian School was also witnessed by Naguenos. The event was spearheaded by the City Government of Naga.

After the parade, the whole troupe of SJS went back to the campus then prepared for the cultural show at SM City Naga at 7:30 pm.

Be in touch with what's going on sa gov't ta, sa streets, sa work, sa family, sa church and most especially sa sadiri ta (self in English, hehe). We may be different from each other in a lot of ways (scary, funny, corrupt, balahura...whatever) but with R.E.S.P.E.C.T. we can all live harmoniously together. Imbes iduon ta ang kapwa ta (crab mentality), let them be and let our Law take care of us thru careful observance by the authorities. And maybe just maybe, sinda mismo ang makarealize kng gawi2 ninda. kaya ngani nagbuhay tao si Jesus db? to save us thru grace.. so dai ta kaipuhan maging perfect and impatient coz it's so hard to even master the 10 commendments. Live like it's the last day.. give our best nlng pero give respect din sa iba kng mga limitations ninda imbes magmarunong or makibali sa bandwagon ta eu pinupuonan kng ribok. We don't have to take it to the streets all the time. We can be examples of civilized individuals by proper communication and being decent enough to listen and understand, being prudent enough to say sorry, excuse me, salamat and more power. That's respect for me, it's being able to recognize positive aspects in each other. RESPECT. We should have our own space in this world. Let's not expect others to have keep the same value system that we have. Respect for own opinion, personal space, elderly and/or nkakagurang, some of the faces of respect that we need to be sensitive with. We know that we have responsibilities and naku, WORRIES, but let others do their thing and allow their true selves.

Naga is one booming city with so many potentials waiting to be maximized by us, Nagueños, Investors, and Visitors alike. But Let us learn first to know it's rich history before we do anything about it especially in large scale. Respecting it's existing culture and not wishing to demolish the good-natured atmosphere of the city and it's people reflects how much we respect ourselves. Let us not Westernized Naga, let us consider other folks living life in simplicity and Filipino 'probinsyano" way. Our city is situated in a region that is rich in Agriculture life. Putting up commercial establishments, designing urban plans, can pose some risks and harsh conditions to our fellow indwellers. I hope our gov't is doing it's job to protect all especially the poor. The poor need not have a lifestyle like ours. They need to see that their life is as good as ours too. Being poor is not a crime. Robbing someone of it's culture, core value, is. Again, I can't be too melodramatic, willful. I respect Change itself. I respect Stress and all the signs of our times. I respect imperfections.

Give RESPECT but don't expect... too much, I guess.=)

Here is a personal collection of animal prints that used to be HOT and fashionable in 2011. There's more from my cave, I can't find the files to upload here. I found out that my friend-slash-co-worker, Bs*y, is also a fetishist of the animal print. One can just imagine how elated she feels when talking about such finds. She has JanSport bags that have 'The' print. Having to carpool in her car means entering Safariland with accessories that shouts 'Leopard'. I just love the way it fits her. hehe.

Obviously, We're freaks with the animal Print! I have coaster, curtain, shorts, belt, bags.. and a few to mention. We surely had our fun times in our own rooms assembling these pieces with other neutral prints to flaunt at parties and night outs, most likely arriving late. haha. Incidentally before I arrived at a net cafe here in our neighborhood Villa Corazon, I happened to check out this haltered zebra-print top that costs 50 php. Come 2012, somehow it's a bit sad knowing that the style -- the loud leopard and zebra prints or furry textures-- will gradually fade as March nears up like tsunami. Summer style will surely take hold of the fashion must-haves while the animal-inspired ones will soon deserve to hang inside our 'laton' or boxes called 'HISTORY'.

New Style introduces itself to the fashion-conscious and the fashion victims alike.

I regret not having to wear the coat at our highschool reunion party last December 29th. It wasn't that kind of a party where I'm my most comfy wearing it. <laughs> To add to my dilemma, I couldn't think of any event close to now where my coat see light. So maybe it was just best that I took some pics with it at home and in my Pepi's car before I left for the reunion. hehehe.. 'may supog pmn pln ako' after all. I just wanted to save the moment with it and with the other animal printed/finished stuff.

A hand-me-down zebre printed curtain I have for years now served as my car-seat-turned-bedroom-sofa cover.

Green Ukay2 off-shoulder leopard-accented sweater from ukay-ukay downtown Naga. I bought this with a hole at one side but managed to sew it down with a matching thread. little glitches make room for more bargain, right? What's lovely about ukay-ukay2 finds is that you can store it up for some time and expect to wear it in fashion the next time. It's just a matter of how good you are at maintaining the quality and mixing and matching different styles. Life is never boring with fashion!

Anti-Hoarding tip: Sort your stuff regularly in a year and purge the ones you don't need for the moment and subcategorize them to 'will never wear but looks good', 'may wear sometime', and 'good as trash'. Whatever labe you make as long as you are able to differentiate the ones you can keep for future use (we do have seasons you know), and the ones you can sell or donate. Let's be generous and share our stuff (good ones too) to victims of Sendong in CDO like what i did along with my batchmates, the USI B2K. Related story next blog.

BACK STORY: Get her to the French.. LACE!
One night by her car's trunk, Bs*y showed me her black tight-fitting lacey dress she called 'Lace'. I actually mistaken it for 'Safari'. Oops, my bad. Accdg. to BS*y, it was the kind of black dress resembling the style of Prince William's wifey, Kate Middleton, she said. If I'm not mistaken again, there is a resemblance. Only that she wore a white one to their wedding, a Chantilly lace gown. In general Fashion lingo, it was 'French lace'. But what made this whole Mistaken-identity-dress thing interesting was that Bs*y wore it to her Bday party but requested her invited friends to dress up 'Safari'. That's how I came about with the name, 'Safari'. hehehe. Connect! Job well done to her dear friend who picked the best lace dress without Bs*y to try it on. =)

It's a hip and cool tea of different flavors. Moonleaf Tea Shop is the second shop after Bubble Town Tea House. Hmmm the tea industry in Naga is growing!

THE PLACE: A brightly lit green and white interior shop at the ADC Commercial Complex. This shop brews a rare kind of tea experience that will surely captivate your senses. Moonleaf's place is cozy and the colors are in glee.

THE TEA: Cold and or Milk Tea being popular nowadays is the basic concept of Moonleaf. Wintermelon Milk Tea (WMT) I suppose is the best seller of this tea shop. The word of mouth is too viral and the effect of social networks that the WMT has been getting a lot of good feedbacks from my friends who already visited the place.

VALUE FOR MONEY: Moonleaf has a huge serving and no other size of serving is available. The basic tea starts at Php 45 to 55, milk tea starts at Php 60 up to 75 and the fruit tea starts at Php 50 to 75. Add ons such as pearls, natas etc costs from Php 10 to 15. (Prices are subject to change without prior notice) Not bad right? The prices reflect the number of people who frequently visits the place and most of them are students and yuppies. But do not get me wrong, since it's tea, the middle aged people will surely enjoy Moonleaf's tea with a twist. So, bring the whole family and spend some quality time with them. If however your a little bit short with finances, you can always save up a little if you're that curious of how it tastes.

THE BARISTAS: Expect smileys on your drink :) Freely given and freely written. Friendly and accommodating, customer satisfaction and Nagueno's hospitality is one sure added color to the shop.

SOMETHING UNIQUE: A wonder wall. In every Moonleaf, there's a corner with a cork board on the wall with numerous written notes. It's fun reading the notes and letters and it definitely gives you a nostalgic feeling of high school and college life wherein we would pass nonsense but funny notes. Either nag chichismisan about a classmate or tungkol sa teacher o kaya naman nag papass ng love letter. :P

And yes, NCD was at Moonleaf Tea Shop and it seems I will be coming back for more to try other flavors.

The photos and videos posted on social networks about Sendong's wrath in CDO, Iligan and neighboring provinces is really heartbreaking. :( Typhoons may be so ordinary to Bicolanos but we worry a lot every time one approaches. Mindanao is a like sunshine place and typhoon is so rare, this recent tragedy is an eye opener that everyone should not be complacent every time a calamity happens in other places and other countries. Let us keep praying for our brothers and sisters who lost their loved ones and their homes.

I and my co-skyscrapercity - SSC forumers (aidz, akosijamir, fil07, garzland, kevinb, Ralph aka brattrap, and Pres Pao..oragon.com) celebrated our post Christmas Party at Sosimo Resto Bar last December 28, 2011. Indeed it was a fun night as the boys sung their hearts out in one of the KTV Rooms of Sosimo Resto Bar located on the second floor of the building. The staff were very accommodating and friendly making us feel at home and at ease. The loudness of the music for the room was enough with crisp digital surround sound with 4 satellite speakers ideally located on the corners of the room and a subwoofer for the bass. EPP Six in the City Fun Run

The EPP SIX IN THE CITY Fun Run is the main event of the 6th anniversary celebrations of the Gov. LRay English Proficiency Program. It is a FUNd-raising event envisioned to involve one thousand runner-participants in the 3K, 6K, and 12K categories.

This event is on the 17th of December of this year.

For nearly six years now, the Gov. LRay English Proficiency Program has provided opportunity to thousands of professionals and job seekers to hone their English communication skills, which are undeniably a prerequisite in today's global job market. The EPP has also been instrumental in finding gainful employment for its graduates.

With the increasing demand for excellent English speakers worldwide, the event is aimed at raising funds for the upgrading of the program's equipment and materials to ensure that high-quality graduates are produced. This is apart from the promotion of physical fitness among the participants.

The fundraising event is aimed to generate funds and engender wider public goodwill for the EPP and its services.

The World Diabetes Day would be celebrated all over the world by illuminating a major monument with blue lights in major cities in each country.

The list include the Singapore Flyer, Empire Estate Building, Eiffel Tower, Sydney Harbor, Parthenon at the Acropolis to name a few.

The Porta Mariae and the cathedral grounds of Naga City, together with four other major cities (Laoag, Manila, Naga, Cebu and Davao) in the Philippines would be beamed live by the International Diabetes Federation during the continuous simultaneous lighting (according to time zone) on November 14, 2011.

Lighting Up ceremonies would begin in New Zealand and Australia.

Mr. Larry Martin of the Pinoy Biggest Loser would be our inspirational guest and would serve as a perfect model for the anti- obesity campaign of the Diabetes Philippines.

Diabetes screening by candle light, Health Care Booths and Health Related Food products booth are open at the cathedral gorund prior to the light up ceremonies.

7 PM is the formal light up to be headed by the Mayor and the Archbishop of Caceres.

Our very own SSC Camsur President, Oragon (pau) is the emcee.

This is our rare chance to see and take photos of the cathedral grounds bathed in blue.

Incidentally, Fr. Badiola commented that blue is the color of the Virgin Mary.

A blissful coincidence for the Pilgrim City represented by Naga.

Simply because this is my first time to join any contest there is in the blog world whether it be local or national in scope. Now why do I like to join the rest of the 499 bloggers from across the Asia-Pacific Region? Here are my top 3 reasons:

No. 3 - As a PERSON - Honestly speaking, if ever I win, I would be glad to have stamp in my never used passport which I got 3 years ago. You got it right, this will be my first international flight ever! For me, it will be another milestone in my life.

No. 2 - As a BLOGGER - I would like to witness and be with the best bloggers in the Asia-Pacific region. I may not be a winner but being with the winners will surely make me proud as a blogger who promotes my city at all cause.

No. 1 - As a FILIPINO, as an ASIAN - Attending the NAPBS 2011 will be a memorable learning experience for me as I will be able to see, meet and experience the rich culture of Asian bloggers. I, as a blogger, I connect, converse and interact online with other people, but I treasure the real life interaction with people around me as it makes our lives meaningful, colorful and brings nations closer and stronger. I'm a Proud PINOY, Proud Naguena!

I might have a slim chance of being one of the 500 destined bloggers to join the big event but I like to dream big and I like it to be the Nuffnang way. Well, good luck to us all! And I hope to see myself in the NAPBS 2011 in Malaysia!

Aside from the coffee treats and fruit shakes that are available in the cafe, they also offer great pasta at a very affordable price and with a surprising serving size. I loved the Tunasetti the first time I tasted it and it's highly recommendable as it was recommended to me. I'm looking forward to trying out the other pasta on Coffee and Co's menu. The Island Rock Show is a series of concerts that celebrates only the very best of independent music.

This seventh show is entitled 'The Island Rock Show 7: Alon at Agos' and will feature the Filipino rock band Alibata.

The title of the show was taken from the carrier single by Alibata, which will be part of their repertoire for that night.

'Alon at Agos' is a tagalog phrase which means "Wave & Flow". This show promotes environmental vigilance and reminds us that art does not exist in a vacuum. It should always be a reflection of the realities we face and the ways we choose to respond to them.

IRE shares in this advocacy and promotes environmental responsibility alongside artistic prowess and professionalism.

For IRS7 we move our focus to Bicol, where the music carries a little bit more bang and spice than we're used to. Watch out for some of the very best bands in Bicol that night on The Island Rock Show.

Plus short performances from the pariticpants and interaction with mentors.

BTW, the drums and bass guitar clinics are open to beginner and advanced drummers as well as simple enthusiasts. It is not a classroom set up so anyone who wants to see how things are done by the mentors are very much welcome to sign up. Also, some bassists and drummers from Naga will also be joining in the fun. It is a music clinic slash gig. Ya dig?
