My guess was right, the building infront of the CBD Terminal is a hotel. While I was editing the directory of hotels in the previous blog entry, I noticed one hotel named CBD Plaza Hotel, I checked the address then poofff it was pertaining to the establishment I mentioned before.

Building In Front of CBD Terminal

>

Months ago, I was so curious with the on-going construction in front of the CBD Terminal which is purely made out of steel. It seems so stiff that all you can see are equally measured compartments. Now that the building is nearly done, it looks nice and attractive with the color of yellow and tangerine. Can you notice that almost all of the rooms (except for the ground floor units) have window type air conditioning units? I was looking for the billboard or sign which says the "On this site will rise the _____" but I didn't see any (or maybe na overlook ko lang). My guess? It's a hotel, may be a dormitory or any similar type of business establishment. If anyone knows what it is.. please feel free to post on the chatbox or comments area. Thank you!!

The event will formally start with a Eucharistic Celebration at the University Church, followed by a mini-parade around campus. The Grand Opening will then be held at the Four Pillars.

-
The Ateneo Womens Volleyball Team will play at the championships at 10:30 A.M. at the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary.

-
All championships will be held at the University Gymnasium on Saturday at 09:00 am. Support our players! Be part of the cheering audience!

BACS Meet 2009 opened successfully starting with a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Joel E. Tabora, S.J., BACS President, at the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral. After the mass, the participants paraded from the Church to the Ateneo de Naga University Campus to prepare for the Opening Ceremony.

The program started with a Welcome Address given by Fr. Rex Alarcon, CEACAL President, followed by the presentation of participating associations, presidents, and hoisting of flags. Gabriel Bordado, Asian Games 2006 Finalist, lead the Symbolic Torch Lighting Ceremony followed by the Oath of Sportmanship with Allan Avila of the AdNU Golden Knights together with other student-athletes from various associations. Most Reverend Leonardo Z. Legaspi, O.P., D.D., Archishop of Caceres, then gave his message to the participants. Soon after, Fr. Joel Tabora, S.J. declared the formal opening of BACS Meet 2009.

In the 70s, BACS Meet was a major activity of BACS. Last year, through the initiative of former BACS coordinator Emmanuel Rene SA. ‘Noli’ Ayo, the BACS Board approved the revival of the Meet.

From August 13-15, athletes and artists from BACS member schools are gathered to compete and strengthen friendship among participants. This year’s theme is “Pagtiripon. Paggiromdom. Pagpadagos.”

UNC Ready for A(h1n1)

>

A(h1n1) is not something to be afraid of. UNC is ready for it and as part of the prevention program of the Health Services of the University, the College of Nursing, assigned students to station at the 2 gates of UNC to get the temperature of students and employees (both those who are walking and who are in vehicles) before they enter the vicinity. Once you have fever, then you cannot go to class and you cannot go to work. August 3, 2009, at first they used the digital thermometer (i'm not sure if that is the correct clinical term) wherein you still have to stick it into the armpits of those who enters the university. Even though it is sanitized every after a student uses the thermometer, you will have to clamour against the human traffic it causes. The afternoon of that same day, they now used the Infrared Thermometer, which is practically easy to use and it avoids human traffic especially during rush hours. All you have to do is stand and pause for 3 seconds, the student points the pen on your forehead with an infrared light, then poof there goes the temperature. I just don't know how accurate it is. There are also posters inside the university which contains tips on how to stay away from a(h1n1) or any flu-like illnesses. Plus, there's a Memo for all employees that if you have signs of flu, you will have to take a "sick leave". It's better to be sure than sorry right?
