Traffic Experiment, Number Coding

When I drove off to work last Tuesday morning, this scene welcomed me at Panganiban Drive starting from Mayon Avenue. There was a sign that says "Traffic Experiment On-Going, Please bear with us.. Yours Truly: PNP/PSO. The bigger signage contains the number coding which was also written on a paper given to drivers.

When you reach the road going to Plaza Medica, (kung galing ka concepcion nito ha) there was a sign again "To SM", so I said to myself, the rerouting will cause a little gas for car owners but I hope it will lessen the traffic. Kaya nga experiment eh kaya tinatry palang sa ngaun hehe.

Next stop, when you reach Isarog Avenue, may harang na po sa gitna. Making every driver be observant as possible making the right side a one-lane road only, meaning, one car lng po ang naka linya, so sabi ko at least mbabawasan ang mga nag oovertake na mga motor.. pero ganun pa din, may mga lumulusot parin sa kanan! hehe. The only u-turn slot before you reach the road going to the CBD terminal is the pedestrian lane sa St. John Hospital. I just don't know if it's really a u-turn slot kc I saw a tricycle making his u-turn on the pedestrian lane.

One way na kc (going out) ung road ng sa may Jollibee and Mariners eh. Grabe noh?!

During that afternoon, umuwi ako sa house for lunch. I decided not to bring the car para mag commute ako so that I can see kung pano ang route ng Concepcion - Del Rosario - Panganiban Jeepneys. I left home at naksakay ako at around 1:05 pm.

Dumating lng naman ako sa UNC around 1:30 na. 25 minutes because of the re-routing. 25 minutes because of the experiment. 25 minutes but SM is not yet open. What more if SM is now open?! Can you imagine the time that will be eaten because of the traffic if you will pass by Panganiban Drive? Mag Diversion ka nlng kc may mga jeep na diretso ng centro at di na pumapasok sa CBD. I'm just wondering if how many jeepneys still like to go in CBD na ganun na nga ang situation.

Is the experiment effective? Number Coding? Let's wait and see. Does it save time? NO. Does it save gas/diesel? NO. The stop and go will definitely not save you any gas! Especially now that 39.05 nnman ang gas!!! waaaa. So better use the other roads para maka punta sa centro.

SM has really made an enormous impact to Bicol specifically to Naga City. From the smallest to huge details, everything has been affected by it either positively or negatively. This is a great challenge for Naga City. Good luck satuya gabos!
